Virginia State University remains on lockdown ‘until further notice’

ETTRICK, Va. (WWBT) – Virginia State University went on lockdown on Thursday due to a threat.
“Due to a potential threat, Virginia State University is currently on lockdown. All students who are on campus should remain indoors, and those off campus should not come to campus at this time,” the school said in an email to students and staff. “All classes have been canceled, and all VSU employees are instructed to work remotely. We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.”
The lockdown continued into the afternoon “until further notice.”
The school says no injuries or incidents have been reported.

“We ask all members of the VSU community to remain vigilant — if you see something, say something,” VSU said in an email.
Anyone who sees suspicious activity is asked to call 804-524-5411.
“We understand this situation is unsettling, and we are committed to keeping you informed with timely and accurate updates,” VSU said.
Another HBCU in Virginia also canceled classes due to a threat.
