Replacement for UVA’s Jim Ryan under current board won’t be confirmed, Virginia Democrats say

RICHMOND — Virginia Democratic legislators said Thursday that they would not confirm a permanent replacement for former University of Virginia president Jim Ryan, who was ousted last month under pressure from the Trump administration.

Ryan resigned after the U.S. Department of Justice alleged the school had not done enough to dismantle diversity, equity and inclusion programs.
