RICHMOND,Va.—WhenthediagnosticsupplementalbreastimagingbillbecomeslawonJanuary1,itwilleliminateout-of-pocketcostsforadditionalbreastcancertestssuchasmammograms,ultrasounds,andMRIs.Statelawmakerspassedthebillwithunanimoussupportduringthe2025GeneralAssemblysession.
“Ourbigprioritythisyearwasdefinitelypassingthisbill,”KirstaMillerwiththeVirginiaBreastCancerFoundation(VBCF)said.“Youdon’talwaysgetawinlikethis.Advocacytakestime.Policytakestime.Legislationtakestime.Sothisissomethingthatwe’rethrilledtohaveatthefinishline.”
