Virginia House “Emergency Committee” is hitting the road

Virginia’semergencycommitteelookingatreductionstothefederalworkforceisplanningatouracrosstheCommonwealth.
Thisspringandsummer,theEmergencyCommitteeontheImpactsoftheFederalWorkforceandFundingReductionswillbetakingitsactontheroad.ThefirststoponthetourwillbeinNorthernVirginia,likelyinArlington–anareawithoneofthehighestconcentrationsoffederalemployeesandcontractors.
“IwouldjustkindofhadhopedthatwewouldhavehadmoreseniorleadershipfromNorthernVirginia,”saysDelegateRobBloxom,aRepublicanfromAccomackCounty,whoisvicechairmanoftheEmergencyCommittee.HesaysSpeakerDonScottdidnotreallyfillthecommitteewithHouseleadershipfromNOVA.
