State revenues up $900 million in first six months of fiscal year

Gov. Glenn Youngkin told the General Assembly budget committees that state tax collections are running almost $900 million ahead in the first six months of this fiscal year.

With state tax revenues already flush, Gov. Glenn Youngkin delivered more good news to the General Assembly budget committees with the announcement this week that state tax collections are running almost $900 million ahead in the first six months of this fiscal year, compared with the same period a year ago.
The announcement late Wednesday wasn’t a surprise, given the revised revenue forecast that Youngkin submitted with his proposed budget last month.
