The initial timeline for restoration was Wednesday or Thursday, but additional issues with the water treatment plant’s electrical components have caused delays, officials have said.
As of Wednesday afternoon, five of the plant’s eight pumps and 15 of its 20 filters were operational, Avula said during a news conference at Richmond’s Main Public Library. That equals around 69 million gallons a day in water production, up from 9 million gallons on Tuesday night.
