Boil water advisory in effect for regions in Roanoke County

ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) – The Virginia Department of Health along with The Western Virginia Water Authority advised residents of Mountain View and Upper Toddsbury to boil their water or use bottled as a safety precaution.
The Virginia Department of Health along with the Western Virginia Water Authority imposed a boil water advisory for the communities of Mountain View and Upper Toddsbury as shown on the map.(The Western Virginia Water Authority)

Since Tuesday, September 23, residents were notified to take precaution because of the loss of water pressure and outage due to a six-inch water line break on Falling Creek Dr.
Loss of pressure along with water draining out of the tanks and distribution lines provides an opportunity for bacteria to enter the system, according to the authority.
