FAIRFAXCITY,VA—A33-year-oldFallsChurchmanarrestedonFridaybyCityofFairfaxPolicefortakingitemsfromalocalgrocerystorewaswantedonawarrantformissingaMay27hearinginAlexandria,accordingtocourtrecords. Officersrespondedaround1:24p.m.onFridayforthereportoflarcenyattheSafewayat10350WillardWay.Searchingthearea,theofficerslocatedasuspect,whomtheyidentifiedasOmarElbasir,accordingtothepolicereport. Duringtheirinvestigation,theofficersdiscoveredthatElbasirwaswantedoutoftheCityofAlexandriaforfailingtoappearforascheduledhearing,accordingtopolice.ElbasirwastakentotheFairfaxCountyAdultDetentionCenter,wherehewaschargedwithpetitlarcenyandservedwithhiswarrantfromAlexandria.Hewasthenheldonasecuredbond. OnApril8,AlexandriapolicearrestedandchargedElbasirontwocountsofpetitlarcenyandonecountoftrespassingafterbeingforbidden,accordingtocourtdocuments.Hewasreleasedonasummons.
