Special election called for Virginia’s vacant Congressional seat

Governor Glenn Youngkin today called for a special election in Virginia’s 11th Congressional District on September 9th. The seat was previously held by Representative Gerry Connolly, who passed away on May 21st. Nine candidates across both major political parties as well as a few independents are expected to run for the Congressional seat.
