(WSET)—TheVirginiaHomelandSecurityTaskForce(VHSTF)passed500arreststhisweek,GovernorGlennYoungkinannouncedMonday.
FormallyannouncedonMarch3rd,VHSTFisafederal-statepartnershipestablishedbytheU.S.DepartmentofJusticetocombattransnationalorganizedcrime,gangviolenceandimmigrationviolationsacrossVirginia.
Accordingtostateofficials,ofthe521totalarrestsmade,132individualsareaffiliatedwithgangssuchasMS-13,TrendeAragua,othertransnationalorganizedcrimeorganizationsandcriminalgangs.TheoperationstartedonFeb.25.
