Governor Youngkin signs, amends and vetoes bills from 2025 legislative session

RICHMOND,Va.(WDBJ)–GovernorGlennYoungkinMondaycompletedactionon916billssenttohimduringthe2025GeneralAssemblysession,accordingtotheGovernor’sOffice.TheGovernorsigned599bills,amended159billsandvetoed157bills.HeGovernorreturnedthebudget,HB1600,with205amendmentsandeightitemvetoes. “Ihavecompletedmyactionsonthemorethan900billssenttomeduringthe2025legislativesession,”saidGovernorYoungkin.“ThelegislationthatI’vesignedintolawandthebudgetamendmentsI’veputforwardthisyearwillgoalongwaytohelpingensureVirginiaremainsagreatplacetolive,work,andraiseafamily. “AmongthebillsIhavesignedareproposalsthatwillkeepschoollunchesfreefromartificialdyes,cementVirginiaashomeoftheworld’sfirstcommercialnuclearfusionfacility,expandruralelectricco-ops’abilitytodriveeconomicdevelopment,modernizeschooltransportationtoreversechronicabsenteeism,andgivemorestudentsopportunitiestotakeadvancedmathclasses,”Youngkincontinued. �
