Troopers: Virginia man’s arrest after pursuit led to stolen credit cards, driver’s licenses and passports

BRUNSWICKCOUNTY,Va.—AVirginiamanisfacing30felonychargesafterapursuitwhichstartedinBrunswickCountywithspeedsof100mphthatendedwithacrashinEmporiaFridayafternoon.
TrooperswereaskedtoassisttheBrunswickCountySheriff’sOfficeinstoppingadriveronRoute58justafter12p.m.,accordingtoofficialswithVirginiaStatePolice.
Afterdeputiesstoppedtheirpursuit,astatetrooperspottedtheHyundaiGenesisonRoute58“speedingrecklesslyat100mphina45mphzone,”officialssaid.
Thetrooperpursuedthediver,lateridentifiedas34-year-oldDelmarCurtisStaton-Davies,ontoInterstate95north.ThedriverthenexitedtheinterstateattheexitforRoute301inEmporia.
ThatiswhentrooperssaidStaton-Daviesranofftheroad,hitacurbandthenaroadsign.Themanthengotoutofthecarandranfromthescene,accordingtoofficials.
Buttrooperssaidhewas“quicklyapprehended”withtheaidoftheGreenvillesheriff’sdeputiesandEmporiaPolice.
