Construction begins on Northern Virginia Science Center
—
Northern Virginia is getting a new state-supported science center – the third in the commonwealth – and a recent contract awarded for the facility’s construction means it’s on track to open in 2027.
The state signed a construction contract for the Northern Virginia Science Center with Balfour Beatty, an international construction firm with 28,000 employees. Officials broke ground on the new museum in late February, according to a news release.
The science center will be located in Loudoun County in the Dulles Technology Corridor at Kincora.
