Many workers have faced the struggle of trying to run their homes without water for dishes and bathrooms, all while schools have been out and children have been home.
On Monday, a power outage at Richmond’s main water treatment plant left the system in disarray. Water pressure dropped across the city, and a boil water advisory was put into effect. That advisory eventually spread into portions of Hanover County and the entire county of Henrico as well as part of Goochland County, which all have interconnected systems.
While water pressure had largely returned across the region on Thursday, boil water advisories remained in effect. The best estimates said Richmond’s could lift on Friday, with the others following later.
